Air-driven gas boosters from Haskel are characterized by a simple and reliable design that has been proven for over 40 years. They are available in a large number of versions, single-stage (single-acting or double-acting) and in two-stage configurations.
Safe design with separated seals
The greater the ratio between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure, the more stages are required. A single-stage booster can handle a ratio of about 1:20, and a two-stage booster about 1:50.
Haskel's gas boosters always feature three seals between the drive air and the pumped gas. These three seals create two intermediate spaces between them, which are vented to the atmosphere and can be piped away. Consequently, the risk of air mixing with the gas is extremely low.
The gas boosters also feature built-in cooling, as the exhaust air is routed past a jacket surrounding the gas section. Two-stage boosters also include interstage cooling.
The boosters can handle most gases. Certain precautions must be taken for hydrogen and oxygen applications. The boosters can handle an inlet pressure as high as the outlet pressure.
Options & Modifications
The boosters are available with various modifications, such as operation with low drive pressures, external start-stop, stroke counters, low-temperature operation, and more.
The model code consists of a letter combination followed by a number combination. The letters indicate the pump type, and the numbers indicate the pressure ratio.
When there is a large difference between inlet and outlet pressure, two-stage boosters or even a combination of a single-stage booster and a two-stage booster are recommended.
For higher flow rates, double-acting types are recommended. For larger boosters, hydraulically driven versions are recommended.
Each pump has an individual serial number indicating the manufacturing month/year and a sequential number.
Calculation programs for hydraulically driven boosters are available for download under CALCULATION PROGRAMS.
